  • The Penny

I used to collect a lot of pennies from my readers and donate them a worthy cause at the year's end. However, until there is a clear solution to prevent PayPal from taking half the donations, this feature is down. Keep the pennies in a jar. ;)

SMS / Text Marketing

I just recieved my first ever SMS marketing communication. I knew it existed and even once helped launch a SMS campaign, but have yet to be a recipient. It’s really happening and I think I’m cool with it, for now at least!

Attempted viral… probably succesful

Oh Woot, you so tricky Woot.com… So, so, soo tricky. This morning I “mistakenly” received an email from one of my favorite deal-a-day websites, Woot.com. The subject and first body lines indicate that only Woot employees should’ve recieved the email, but somehow this lil’ ol’ consumer got mixed up in the employee contact list. Either [...]

Colin Powell endorses Obama

Confused about your decision in 08? I am! Probably because this is the first election I’ve genuinely paid close attention to. Adding to the confusion is the need for immediate and drastic change. The questions I’ve asked myself are: what are the changes needed and which candidate can make them happen flawlessly?
To me, yesterday was [...]

John McCain

has a lot of heroes

He also has the most ignorant people in the country supporting him.

Truth in parody

Is there some truth in Parody? As funny, insulting, or empowering as it is – a great parody has some truth to it. Last night’s SNL parody of Thursday’s VP debate demonstrates just that… At least in my opinion.

Poor Mrs. Palin

First Palin’s email gets hacked, then Disney decides to make a mockery of her northern lifestyle, then Sarah Palin’s Facebook profile is made public… Sad? Yes! But funny nonetheless.

Kobe goes viral

Last week’s hot topic in viral media was a video of Kobe Bryant jumping a speeding sports car. Considering a vehicle would have to be traveling upwards of 150 MPH, I venture to guess magic (perhaps Harry Potter) was involved during this video’s production; but spectacular nonetheless. It’s viral for several reasons: a.) The video [...]

Sex Ed. for dummies, or really immature adults

In my opinion, you’re never too old to laugh at a good sex joke. That said, there’s nothing funny about (STIs) sexually transmitted infections (not that I’d know, honestly!) But they are fun to make fun of, especially for the sake of education. That’s the approach Planned Parenthood is taking with TakeCareDownThere.org, an action-based website [...]

White Gold is White Gold

Strung-out by their long running “Got Milk?” campaign, Milk, with help from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, launched a “made for web,” digital campaign built around a fictional rocker, White Gold. One part moderately creepy human and one part mystic moon goddess, White Gold is sure to please; whether or not he’ll persuade you to [...]

Yahoo! Launches LIVE

Over the weekend Yahoo! launched a revolution, one only recognized online and of value to those of us with a web cam/iSite, not to mention a blazing fast connection, but a revolution nonetheless. It’s Yahoo! LIVE, a live video-streaming service that has all the potential to, once again, change the way we use the [...]
